Michael Harner, the founder of core shamanism, crossed over to the other side on 3 February 2018. But his legacy lives on through the thousands of students he had, among them our own Arthur Sørenssen and many, many more.
There is little doubt that Michael also had an enormous significance for the awakening of Nordic shamanism through his life and teachings at the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and through his books. And perhaps especially the reawakening of Sami shamanism through his student Ailo Gaup. Part of Harner's vision was that people of different backgrounds should build further on core shamanism by adding elements from their own local religious and cultural traditions.
We wish you a good journey to the land beyond, Michael Harner. The vault of heaven has gained a new star.
