Travel letter from Liss Inger Wahl
My journey began from Hammerfest/Finnmark on 10 June. Excited feelings and many thoughts arose around the weekend. I was on my way to my first gathering hosted by SF, a shamanic gathering in the realm of the Raumar at Motangen in Akershus.
I didn't have many expectations for what might happen this weekend; I was simply determined to let everything happen that was meant to happen, and it did. From the very first meeting with Kyrre and Knut when I arrived.
The change came as soon as I arrived, moving from sleeping in a tent to sharing a room with Knut, Geir and Geir's sweet little ones. Little did I know that this meeting with these people would mean new acquaintances and new friends.
The weekend was varied, with ceremonies, sweat lodges, music, sales from two stalls, a workshop and wonderful encounters with great people.
Gro's opening ceremony began the whole gathering, and from there it was one experience after another, with feelings, learnings and so much warmth from everyone, which created the good energy that hung over the place all weekend.
I got to accompany someone who bought their first drum; it is wonderful to be able to take part in this good energy that arises when good experiences blossom. I got to experience the wonderful world drum. Wonderful to hear of its journey around the world.
"The journey into the dreamtime" was my highlight; experiencing so much personal growth in a single journey is a wonderful feeling, and it still lingers in my body. Letting it happen is something many more people should get to experience, because it does happen, as long as we have trust. Istvan and the Fire People provided some wonderful experiences within the music. Simply being able to enjoy, to let go and dance with all the other happy people in beautiful harmony is a feeling that will stay with me for a long time.
Knut Fuglesteg helped me see clearly some of the experiences that emerged during the journey into the dreamtime; it is wonderful to get help putting the experiences into perspective for myself and those around me, thank you for that. So the journey home was on a cloud of new learnings and experiences. I want to thank everyone I had the pleasure of meeting, and I hope to see you again at the next opportunity. I'm already looking forward to the next gathering.
