Our forstander in Vestfold/Telemark is stepping down and will continue as a ceremony leader. We are therefore seeking a new forstander.

The following criteria apply:
- At least 23 years old
- At least 5 years of experience as a practitioner of shamanism, and personal suitability.
- Completed and approved ceremony leader training under SF.
In addition, a prospective forstander will be assessed collectively by the forstanders according to the following criteria adopted at the forstander meeting: We shall assess a forstander according to the following criteria: The assessment will have to be made on a spiritual and otherworldly level, even though the ability to understand the requirements set by the authorities will also be a consideration. We have laid out the following points, which we have chosen to elaborate on:
- Simplified certificate of good conduct. A prospective forstander must, within 30 days of submitting their application, have submitted a simplified certificate of good conduct.
- Demonstrate suitability during a probationary period of 6 months and allow themselves to be observed by a forstander. Evaluation after 3 months.
- By suitability we mean suitability in relation to the statement of purpose and the ideology of Sjamanistisk Forbund. This is also assessed against the ability to distinguish between one's own business and one's work within SF.
- Empathy and humility are seen here as a direct result of ego death and the willingness to put others before oneself.
- Attitudes, the willingness to listen and learn something new. The ability to set boundaries.
- Responsibility, an understanding of legal responsibility. A responsibility to act in a way that inspires trust. Responsibility and an understanding of the duty of confidentiality. Not exploiting one's own position. Insight into and understanding of ethical questions and issues.
- Read and understand «Forstanders in Faith Communities».
The forstander will be evaluated over a 6-month period, with a follow-up after 3 months.
