Sjamanistisk Forbund can run courses anywhere in the country. All we need is a person who can arrange the course locally for us and provide a suitable venue. You then get the course for free. Sjamanistisk Forbund is a non-profit organisation and can therefore keep prices lower than commercial providers, since our aim is not profit.
Shamanic Introductory Course
Come into the shaman's world and learn to find the power that can help yourself and others to a more harmonious life.
The aim of the course is to give participants a thorough introduction to and understanding of shamanic traditions and techniques. The course suits you who wish to familiarise yourself with shamanism and create a foundation for further self-development. The course is based on the combined experience of our forstandere (officiants), who have both practised and taught shamanism for many decades. After the course you will have an understanding of shamanic practice that will form the basis for you to explore shamanism both as a world heritage and as part of a specific tradition. You will be able to contact your helpers and draw knowledge from the spirit world.

What you must bring with you:
- A drum and rattle if you have them
- Drawing paper, A4 or A3
- Coloured pencils or crayons
- Something to sit on, a blanket, a scarf to put over your eyes
- A sleeping mat and sleeping bag. Price per person, members: 1500,-
Price per person for non-members: 2000,-
Host for a course in SF.
A host's tasks:
- To get a course in their area, the host must have a minimum of ten people registered in advance.
- The host arranges for someone to make a simple, warm meal on Friday and dinner on Saturday, for those courses where accommodation is included. This person receives a small honorarium for the work.
- The host should have an overview of the logistics, so that all participants can contact the host and get information about how to find the venue, information about transport, etc.
- The host ensures that the venue is rented and looks acceptable; the rental invoice is sent to SF centrally.
The venue should have room for a minimum of 18 people, and it would be good if it is possible to stay overnight on site. It should also be located near nature, and have the possibility of lighting a fire, or have a fire pit available.
The host also makes sure that firewood is available.
- The host obtains the notebooks that the course participants are given. These are bought at Biltema or similar and should not cost more than 100,- each.
