I was given the task of creating a ceremony, and I ended up creating one in which I thanked my power animals for being present in my life and for helping and supporting me. The next task was to carry out that ceremony, and for me it became a very beautiful and powerful experience. So here is a little guide to the ceremony, which perhaps more people would like to try. If you want to carry out the ceremony alone, you can read the singular where I have written the plural in reference to participants. The number of power animals you wish to include is up to you.
Preparations: each participant must be informed that they need to determine which power animals are to be thanked and find a suitable offering for each individual power animal. The offerings must be relatively small in size.
The ceremonial act is that each participant takes each individual power animal and its corresponding offering and, silently or aloud, thanks the animal before the offering is placed on the sacred fire. The ceremony leader decides where in the circle to begin, and each participant offers their gifts in turn until everyone has given what they are to give to the fire.
During the drum journey, each participant visualizes each individual power animal they have given an offering to and gives thanks that the animal is present in their life. The ceremony leader and helper carry out the drum journey.
