The Tree Dance Ritual
After creating this sacred space, I performed a TREE DANCE to communicate with the PLANT KINGDOM of the area. The ritual was carried out as follows:
I stood at the outer edge of the sacred space/circle facing SOUTH (standing by the previously laid out stones). I stood still for a while and greeted the power of the south. I said the following: "I ask you to teach me about trees." I felt supported by the earth and that the sky spread out above my head. I then felt what it is like to be a tree.
How the roots stretch down into the earth, past stones and so on. Drawing nourishment up into the leaves. I felt the tree's branches reaching upward.
I focused on the tree's spirit – dancing/moving until I felt I was finished. I thanked the energies of the south and the spirit of the trees. I stood still and calmly returned to consciousness. I felt the sky above my head and that I regained contact with the ground.
