Our religious leader in Hordaland, Arthur Sørenssen, is retiring. In connection with this we are looking for a new religious leader. A prospective new religious leader will have to meet a number of criteria and will be assessed during a trial period by the college of religious leaders.
The following criteria apply:
- Has reached the age of 23
- At least 5 years of experience as a practitioner of shamanism, and personal suitability.
- During the trial period, has completed a basic course in shamanism organized by SF as well as a ceremony leader course. (Alternative paths may be considered on an individual basis)
Furthermore, a prospective religious leader will be assessed collectively by the religious leaders according to the following criteria adopted at the religious leaders' meeting: We shall assess a religious leader according to the following criteria: The assessment will have to be made on a spiritual and devotional level, although the ability to understand the requirements set by the authorities will also be a topic. We have set up the following points, which we have chosen to elaborate on:
- A simplified certificate of conduct (police clearance). A prospective religious leader must, within 30 days of submitting the application, have submitted a simplified certificate of conduct
- Demonstrate suitability during a trial period of 6 months and allow themselves to be observed by a religious leader. Evaluation after 3 months.
- By suitability we mean suitability in relation to the statement of purpose and the ideology of Sjamanistisk Forbund. This is also assessed against the ability to distinguish between one's own activity and one's work within SF
- Empathy and humility are seen here as a direct result of ego death and the willingness to put others before oneself.
- Attitudes, the willingness to listen and learn something new. The ability to set boundaries
- Responsibility, an understanding of legal responsibility. A responsibility to act in a manner that inspires trust. Responsibility for and understanding of confidentiality. Not to exploit one's own position. Insight into and understanding of ethical questions and issues.
- Read and understand «Forstandere i trossamfunn» (Religious Leaders in Faith Communities).
The religious leader will be evaluated over a 6-month period, with a follow-up after 3 months.
