To keep pace with the changes in society today, members of the Shamanic Association of Norway should seek, to the best of their ability, to:
- Create an alliance between different shamanic traditions, and work as a circle of equal practitioners.
- Gather and pass on knowledge of shamanic traditions and practice.
- Promote the importance of each member's personal responsibility to do the inner work needed to live with integrity.
- Encourage a deeper spiritual understanding in every single member.
- Focus our shared resources and power to bring healing and unity to the world.
- Be a forum for sharing ideas about integrating shamanic practice into society today.
- Encourage an exchange about how we use shamanic practice in our daily lives.
- Integrate our shamanic practice into the local community, and support each other by sharing knowledge.
- Build and carry forward a living Shamanic tradition for future generations

As a main member I promise...
- I promise to work in sacred alliance with the Spirits, and to be informed and guided by the Source and not by my own ego
- I promise to acknowledge the inherent wholeness in every person, group or circumstance.
- I promise to be mindful of my own speech, thought and action, and its impact on building good relationships.
- I promise to respect others, also in our differences.
- I promise to show compassion and avoid being judgmental towards others.
- In service to others, I promise to keep my own life and personality in balance to the best of my ability.
