The ceremony leader training
You are welcome to apply for Sjamanistisk Forbund's ceremony leader training. The training is free, on condition that you serve as a ceremony leader for Sjamanistisk Forbund for at least 2 years after you have been appointed as a ceremony leader (upon completing the training). The application deadline is 1/2 2023, and the course requires enough participants. Applications are sent by email
The school has 8 theory modules online and 5 gathering weekends (Thursday to Sunday) with the start as follows
Theory modules begin at 19:00 online on the following dates
6/3-23, 17/4-23, 22/5-23, 4/9-23, 16/10-23, 27/11-23, 22/1-24, 4/3-24.
Gathering weekends in Valdres 11-14/5 2023, 21-24/10 2023, gathering weekend 5 to be announced
Gathering weekends at Motangen (Naturefest): 22-25/6-23, 20-23/6-24 (exam)
Application requirements: We would like an open application in which you tell us about your motivation for applying, what previous experience you have (not necessarily courses) and a little about yourself. This could, for example, be which qualities you have that will contribute to a good atmosphere in the group.
Formal requirements: Be a full member of Sjamanistisk Forbund
A basic course from Sjamanistisk Forbund. A catch-up course will be arranged in February for those who do not have this.
Have turned 23, or turn 23 before the exam.
Be willing and able to travel geographically within the county both during training and as an appointed ceremony leader, as well as to gatherings.
Be able to provide a simplified police certificate of good conduct applicable to work with children and young people. The actual requirement for a certificate of good conduct will come into force during the initial period. You will need a form from us setting out the basis of the need.
Be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Be willing to follow the governmental and internal guidelines that apply to ceremony leaders.
During training, have an understanding of, and a willingness to follow, the traditions and ceremonies on which Sjamanistisk Forbund is based.

Suitability based on the application
That there is a need for ceremony leaders in the relevant area
Experience in the practice of shamanism. (This also includes the shamanic work you do for yourself in daily life, as well as shamanic courses, gatherings or the like you have taken part in, whether hosted by SF or others. What we are looking for is that you, in one way or another, regularly practise shamanic techniques for yourself and/or others.)
Openness, honesty and willingness
Which qualities you envisage will contribute to a good atmosphere and sense of belonging in the group.
