Sjamanistisk Forbund is now planning a new county chapter, namely SFVestland! Kristin met several of SF's forstandere and ceremony leaders at the alternative fair at the Radisson Blu "SAS" hotel in Bergen this weekend. "I feel we are starved of events, ceremonies and drum journeys here in the west" - says Forstander Asbjørn, and several people we have been in contact with feel the same way. To make a county chapter happen, we MUST have one more person on a start-up board, also known as an interim board. After that comes a local annual meeting with the election of candidates. But that is still a little way off. Right now we need one more SF member to get the wheels turning. You must have been a member for at least 6 months before a board position is possible. We may have one member who can step in after the school term ends, so if no one turns up now, the chances increase over time. But if you ARE a member who wants activity in Vestland, then contact Asbjørn. It seemed like Asbjørn and Kristin were considering a ceremony or two if the interim board takes a while, but time will tell. Asbjørn is a trained ceremony leader in SF, and is also forstander for Vestland county, so if there is a ceremony, it will be held in Sjamanistisk Forbund's name. Feel free to send a request for where you would like to have a ceremony, Asbjørn promises that there will also be a drum journey.
