The UN International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples (9 August) is a day on which the global community expresses solidarity with and respect for the world's indigenous peoples and their rights. Each year the UN General Assembly chooses a specific theme within international indigenous policy that deserves special attention on the day.
The Day of Indigenous Peoples is a Sami flag day.
