The European Congress of Ethnic Religions is an international body that works to support ethnic faith traditions and to prevent discrimination against them. Sjamanistisk Forbund is a member. At this year's congress, delegates from 17 countries gathered, among other things to form a new board. Sjamanistisk Forbund was elected onto the new board as a board member, and the board was also expanded from five people to 7. The representative from Sjamanistisk Forbund will be Kyrre Gram Franck. Compared to many other countries, Norway has less discrimination against ethnic religions, even though much work still remains before we can have genuinely equal treatment of faith communities. The experience from this work in Norway may also give a possible direction for how ECER can combat discrimination in countries where the disparity in treatment is great.
