Vel gjennomført kurs på Voll gård i Trondheim

On the weekend of 9–11 May, the course A Deeper Connection to the Elements was held in Gulhuset at the idyllic Voll gård in Trondheim. In total, 22 people, including instructors, gathered to explore the power of the elements and strengthen the bond between human and nature. The photo was taken in fairly strong backlight, so it was hard not to squint :)

Positive feedback from the participants

The course has previously received very positive feedback, and the weekend's gathering in Trondheim was no exception. Participants particularly highlighted the group exercises and group dynamics as the high points. One participant described how the course helped her release old patterns rooted in a lack of trust:

"The help I received to release difficult patterns that stemmed from a lack of trust in 'everything and everyone'. It now feels as if I have started a new life."

Several also appreciated being sent articles about the elements ahead of the course, which made it easier to prepare and ask relevant questions along the way. One participant with a teaching background said:

"It is important that both teacher and student are prepared for the teaching. Then it is easier to know what one might ask about. It is good that you spent a lot of time on drum journeys rather than going through all the articles."

Drum journeys and spiritual awakening

The drum journeys were a central feature throughout the weekend, and many highlighted these as particularly valuable. One participant said:

"I liked that there were many drum journeys. I am very pleased with what I am left with after the weekend."

The atmosphere was also described as down-to-earth and full of humour, which helped create a safe and supportive setting for the work with the elements. Several participants experienced the course as an awakening, with increased faith in themselves, in other people and a heightened sense of the sacred in nature.

More courses on the way in Trondheim

Forstander Jim Flatjord of Sjamanistisk Forbund Midt-Norge reports that more courses will follow. The course Introduction to Shamanism is already planned for this autumn, and interest is high.

The weekend's course at Voll gård shows that there is a strong desire to explore deeper connections to nature and the elements – in a safe, inclusive and inspiring setting.
